Giacomo Menochio (Pavia, 1532 - Pavia, 1607) was one of the most famous Jiureconsulti of the '500s, as well as a skilled political man. He taught in the Universities of Pavia, Mondovì and Padua. Member of the Senate of Milan and President of the Judiciary of the Revenue of Milan. His great fame is due to the fact that in 1560 he intervened on the dispute between the Marquis of E (Finariensis), Alfonso del Carretto and the Republic of Genoa, he written a response in favor of the latter, and in total dissent from those pronounced in Priority from the Giureconsulti of the University of Pavia, in response to a request from the emperor. (This response came to him added to the appliance to the volume in question). As specified on the title page, in 1566 he obtained the prestigious appointment of Jus Pontificium teacher in the "Morning chair" of the University of Padua. The present work, enriched by numerous precious capiletter, with binding in parchment Coeva, calligraphic title on the back, is actually very rare and study.
