Longaretti is a pupil of Aldo Carpi and attended the Brera Academy from 1931 to 1939, becoming in the following years a multifaceted and versatile figure in the learning of multiple artistic techniques like the fresco. Having started his academic career, his artistic profile became very important for his ability to pictorially transpose the delicate historical cross-section of the Shoah, thinking about the suffering of Jews in extermination camps and the outcasts of society.
