Rosario Genovese is an artist born in Catania in 1953 who attended the Art Institute and the Fine Arts Academy of the same city, where he was later professor of Decoration. During his artistic career, he has dealt with various themes and pictorial styles, starting from the pictorial and photographic realism of the 70s and then arriving at the concept of cosmological mimesis in the 90s. His artistic production includes works on three-dimensional and two-dimensional supports, which represent stars, planets, galaxies and constellations, exploring double stars, contact binaries, pulsars and binary black holes.

Genovese's works are present in numerous collections and museums in Sicily, including the Museum, the Observatory of Contemporary Art in Bagheria, the Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art G Perricone in Trapani, the Palazzo della Vicaria, the Palazzo dei Normanni, the Santa Maria Gallery of Contemporary Sacred Art in Syracuse, and the modern and contemporary art collection of the Municipality of Catania. In 2011 a collection of poetic texts and images of his pictorial works entitled "My talking stars: words and images" was published, and in 2013 the e-book "Worlds inside" was published by Scrimm Edizioni of Catania.
