He worked in Vienna under the Habsburgs and in 1723 he was recognized as ''First Theater Engineer''. He also worked in Linz, Graz, Prague and Munich. He was responsible for the decorations of the Vienna opera house and later (1747) also for the decorations of the Breda opera house (Saxony). From 1753 he was permanently in Berlin on assignments from Frederick II of Prussia known as ''The Great''. He died in Berlin in March (12) 1957.
