Vittorio Ribaudo
(Palermo, 1937 - 2022)

Sicilian rural scene with view of Etna

oil on fir wood
h cm 40 x 60
Vittorio Ribaudo, originally from Palermo, became famous because he created his works not only on canvas but also on wood, marble and precious stones, materials he used to depict the scenes of the Divine Comedy. He participated in several exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
His works tend to reproduce the bright colours of his Sicily.
He was the inventor of painting-sculpture, in fact he fuses the two things together by applying to the wooden sculpture a painting with backgrounds and landscapes with characters that integrate with the sculpture.
